Wedding Tips Compliments of Bella Sposa Bridal & Prom

Bridal Wedding Tips:

Þ  When to purchase:  An ordered gown will take anywhere from four to six months to arrive from the manufacturer.  We strongly reccomend our clients to make their gown decisions final nine months before the wedding.  This allows ample time for fittings and to make the adjustments that will be necessary to create that perfect fit.

Þ  We reccomend that a bride should try veils & head pieces when she is making her gown decision.  This assures a complete and perfect match.

Þ   It is easier to choose accessories while you are in your gown.  It’s good to accessorize your gown and have that complete look when you make the purchase decision.  Accesories will include:  veil, bra, slip, shoes, earrings, necklace, bracelet and purse.

Þ  It’s a good idea to wear your hair similar to the style you plan for your wedding day.  Doing so will give you a clear idea of the finished look for the wedding day.  It’s best to refrain from wearing much makeup while shopping as it ruins the gowns.

Þ  We suggest that you either wear or bring shoes the heel height that you indend for your wedding day.  This will help you determine comfort and the proper finished length necessary for your wedding gown.

Þ  A bride should bring no more than two or three people who are instrumental in helping make her purchase decision.  Bringing a large enterage of people will cause the bride to lose focus and too many varied opinions remove clarity from the situation.

Þ  Always be open to suggestions from a knowledgable bridal consultant when she suggests styles.  Do not simply say no.  Try it on, you have nothing to lose and may actually find the perfect gown.

Þ   We do not reccomend taking photos to share.  It is always best to leave the element of surprisee to the wedding day.  It’s all a part of the excitement.

Fitting Wedding Tips:

Þ  You want to allow four to six months delivery.  You must also consider that evening wear alterations require at the very least two fittings.  Plan for three to five fittings and you will be well prepared.

Þ  When the bridesmaids come for their fittings, make sure they have their proper undergarments and shoes.  This saves time and potentially unnecessary alterations.

Þ  If you are planning on losing weight before your wedding, do not hesitate in ordering the gown because of the length of time needed.  Perhaps give yourself a goal and discuss it  with your consultant.  Proper arrangements can be made.

Bridesmaids Wedding Tips:
Þ  If you are concerned with varying sizes in your bridal party, you may want to consider picking only a color and designer.  The bridesmaids can then each pick a dress that will best accommodate their figure.

Þ  Do not rule out separates (Two-piece outfits)  for your bridal party.  Many times you can split the sizes which will assure a better fit for your girls.  You can also allow the girls to choose different tops or skirts as they feel most comfortable.

Þ  If you are looking for a way to have your maid of honor(s) stand out, they can wear a different dress or a different color.  You may also want to consider the use of a shawl, gloves, a larger and or unique bouquet.

Þ  Bringing pictures of dresses can be very helpful in finding the best style for you and your party.  However we recommend keeping an open mind and allowing our consultants to suggest styles you may not have otherwise considered.

Þ  We offer a wide variety of junior bridesmaids dresses as well as flower girl dresses to compliment either the bride or the bridal party.

Þ  Remember: shawls, straps, and or jackets can be added to all dresses to accommodate religious, warmth or stylistic needs.

Mother of the Bride/Groom Tips
Þ  When mothers are looking for a gown, they should not limit themselves to traditional styles.  Mothers do commonly wear black, champagne or ivory, colors that had formerly been considered taboo.

Þ  Beading and embellishments can be added or subtracted from most outfits.   Many styles can be modified based on formality of affair or time of day.

Þ  Not all outfits need to be matronly.  We love working with the mothers and want their style to be their very own, current and colorful.  Many styles are available that are both flattering and youthful.

Þ Many mothers choose bridesmaids dresses and order custom boleros or sleeves to go with them.
